Essential Auction News
Welcome to the first newsletter of 2022 which looks back at auction activity during 2021. Year-on-year across the whole industry we have seen a 7.8% growth in lots offered and a 29.8% rise in amount raised taking it to £4.26bn. December 2021 saw a rise in revenue over December 2020 of 19.2% to £520.9M. The residential revenue rose by over 14% to £377.1M, and the commercial by over 34% to £143.8M. As one would expect the quarterly comparison saw similar gains.
Whilst I write this, the team here are already entering some bumper catalogues of upcoming auctions, and the signs are that 2022 will be another busy year for the industry.
As ever I welcome any comments you might have.
Please note the newsletter can also be viewed online. Kind regards David Sandeman davids@eigroup.co.uk P.S. Here at the Essential Information Group we maintain a database of virtually every property coming up for sale at auction as well as almost 900,000 lots that have been to auction in the past. It is fully searchable and allows you to identify properties coming up for sale that you might be interested in, and to see what similar properties have sold for in the past.
