Essential Auction News
Welcome to the May newsletter that looks back on auction activity in April and preceding periods. The growth of the market that we have been seeing for the past 12 months is again reflected in this month’s figures. Of the 36 metrics we cover, 26 were upward, and 10 were downward.
The overall amount raised in April was up 7%, from £305M to £327M. The vast majority of this was in the residential sector, as no major commercial auctions took place in April. The overall rolling year figures saw an 8% increase in the number of lots sold to 22,045, with the amount raised up 20% to £4.72bn suggesting that property values are rising.
In the 13 regions we cover, 2 of them saw the year-on-year quarterly revenues increase by over 20%. They were: Wales + 21% and Yorkshire and Humberside + 30%.
As always, I look forward to receiving any comments you may have.
Please note the newsletter can also be viewed online. Kind regards David Sandeman davids@eigroup.co.uk P.S. Here at the Essential Information Group we maintain a database of virtually every property coming up for sale at auction as well as almost 900,000 lots that have been to auction in the past. It is fully searchable and allows you to identify properties coming up for sale that you might be interested in, and to see what similar properties have sold for in the past.
